The Iowa Environmental Council is an alliance of diverse organizations and individuals working together to promote public policies that protect Iowa's natural resources for current and future generations. Our vision for Iowa: waters run clean, soil stays on the land, the air is clear, plants and animals are diverse and people are proud to call Iowa home.
Citizen opinions and comments are needed to let Iowa policy makers know that Iowans care about water quality and want adequate protections of natural resources. The Iowa Environmental Council makes it easy for citizens to make their voice heard. Iowans may sign up to receive action alerts about pending water quality rules and bills. Background information, talking points, sample emails, contact information for elected officials and much more is provided with each alert. After educating themselves, our policy volunteers contact (call or email) policymakers, persuading them to write policies and pass legislation that protects water quality and our other natural resources. We also have volunteer water quality monitoring opportunities. Please contact us to find out more!
