Take a free scenic paddleboat ride aboard the Magnolia Blossom from Harriet Island to Pig’s Eye Lake along the Mississippi River. Along the way, National Park Rangers will discuss the area’s colorful history and talk about conservation efforts at Pig’s Eye Lake.
After the tour, the boat will land at Pig’s Eye and the group will work together on a two-hour restoration project to clean up trash, collect native plant seeds, and remove invasive species. The physical work load will be moderate, appropriate for adults and children ages 10 and up. While on the island, Park Rangers will help participants identify wildlife and point out significant cultural features around the clean-up site.
Relax on the ride home with food and beverages available for purchase aboard the boat.
