Celebrate the Mississippi through your photos!
Vote for your favorite Mississippi River photo! Voting will be open from August 17-31, 2010.

1Mississippi and Brookfield Renewable Power are proud to present the first Mississippi River Photo Contest.
Connecting 31 states via its tributaries, it's easy to feel that the River doesn’t "belong" to anyone, yet, at the same time, its broad reach makes it everyone’s; it unites us as a people and we rely on it as a resource. We live in many different states, but we are, without a doubt, one nation and 1 Mississippi.
Amateur and professional photographers entered hundreds of their favorite Mississippi River photographs—photos that exemplify the unique landscape of the mighty Mississippi and the communities that populate its banks. These amazing photos show the diverse wildlife and natural areas, cities and cultures that make the Mississippi River unique.
Together with Brookfield Renewable Power, we’ve chosen the top three photographs in both the amateur and professional categories. But it is up to you to choose the winners! Vote for your favorite photo today!
The first, second and third place winners in both an amateur and a professional category will be awarded great prizes. First place winners will also have their photographs and names printed on 8ft tall banners used at Mississippi River festivals, fairs and farmers markets throughout the region!
